Hyphen+Asian Showcase Performers 2023 Application Guidelines
Submission deadline: Wednesday, July 17, 5:00 pm PST
Artists announced July 31, 2023
Hyphen+Asian — WAA’s Asian-American, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian (AAPINH) affinity group are accepting applications for a dedicated Hyphen+Asian showcase taking place on Tuesday, September 5.
Up to 12 slots will be available. There is no application fee; no performance fee will be paid. It is recommended that selected performers purchase a showcase listing ($50), to appear in the WAA Conference Schedule.
A goal of the Hyphen+Asian Committee is to represent the broad diversity of what constitutes AAPINH performance. Therefore, a broad set of criteria will be considered in the selection of artists, in order to exemplify a balance of geographies and cultures, traditional and innovative practices, genres, and perspectives.
To be considered for the Hyphen+Asian Showcase, please complete the application and supply requested materials and contact information by July 17. Selected acts will be notified by July 31. Artists/acts must be WAA members, or be represented by a WAA member agent/manager, in order to perform.
